History

Miyakodōri Station is a Kagoshima City Tram Tōsō Line tram stop in Chūō-chō, Kagoshima. It opened on 1 October 1950 under the Kagoshima City Transportation Section (today the Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau). Only Route 2 (Kōrimoto – Kagoshima-Chūō-eki-mae – Tenmonkan – Kagoshima-eki-mae) uses the stop. The two side platforms are at-grade, and neither manual nor powered wheelchairs can be used because the platform width is below the regulation minimum. The stop is unstaffed; tickets are not sold on site. Nearby points of interest include Kagoshima Municipal Nakasu Elementary School, Kagoshima Prefectural Kōnan High School and the Aēru Tower redevelopment building.

Notes

Miyakodōri opened on 1 October 1950, established by the Kagoshima City Transportation Section, the forerunner of today's Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau. It lies on the Tōsō Line between Kagoshima-Chūō-ekimae and Nakasu-dōri, and only Route 2 of the Kagoshima City Tram calls there.
