History
Mitsuya Station opened with the completion of the Asanogawa Electric Railway's Nanatsuya–Shinsuzaki section on 10 May 1925. It was originally located at a different site from today, and was renamed Tsurihashi Station on 21 April 1946. On 26 November 1974, passing-loop facilities were newly installed together with the station's relocation, and at the same time the passing facilities at Waridashi and Kagatsume stations were abolished. On 1 December of the same year, the station's name reverted from Tsurihashi Station to Mitsuya Station. Its station number is A07, and it is an unstaffed station with two facing platforms serving two tracks, the only station on the Asanogawa Line where trains can pass one another.
Notes
Mitsuya is the only passing loop on the Hokuriku Railroad Asanogawa Line: every train on the line crosses an opposite-direction service here, but the station has no station building — just open weather shelters and an unbarriered level crossing linking the two platforms.
