History
Mitsumatsu Station opened on 30 January 1926 on the Mizuma Railway's Mizuma Line, in Kaizuka, Osaka Prefecture. It is a single-platform, single-track ground-level halt without a station building or ticket gates; access is direct from the street to the platform. Line-wide PiTaPa-compatible one-man operation began on 1 June 2009, but the station was not fitted with platform IC readers — fares are paid on board. The 2023 prefectural statistical yearbook records an average of 403 boardings and alightings combined per day.
Notes
Passenger numbers at Mitsumatsu are modest and have not returned to their pre-pandemic level: the daily average of boardings and alightings combined was 462 in 2015 and 418 in 2019, fell to a low of 327 in 2021, and had recovered only to 403 (207 boarding, 196 alighting) by 2023. The halt lies 4.7 km along the Mizuma Line from Kaizuka, 0.4 km from the stop on either side, next to Osaka Prefectural Road No. 40 and Kaizuka's Kishima Elementary School.
