Location

History

Minami-Setaka Station was established by the Railway Ministry on 23 March 1935 under the name "Idenoue Station." On 15 November 1942, after the neighboring Setaka district's central station, "Yabegawa Station," was renamed "Setakamachi Station," this station was renamed "Minami-Setaka Station," meaning "the central station of the Minami-Setaka district." Freight handling ended on 1 October 1961, and parcel handling ended and the station became unstaffed on 20 February 1971. It was inherited by JR Kyushu at the JNR privatization of 1 April 1987. The IC card "SUGOCA" became usable there from 1 March 2009. It is located at Ōgami, Setakamachi, Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture; it is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms and two tracks, and is an unstaffed station with a simplified station building.

Notes

The station's original name at opening, "Idenoue," was an old place name derived from a landform where water welled up abundantly from wells.
