History

Mikuni Station opened at Shintaka 3-chōme, Yodogawa Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, on 10 March 1910, at the same time service began on Minoo Arima Electric Tramway's (now Hankyu Corporation's) Takarazuka Main Line. It was originally a ground-level station on a sharp curve with a speed restriction, but elevation work began on 12 October 1989, and the speed restriction was eliminated once the down line was elevated on 20 July 1998 and the up line on 20 March 2000. A station building directly connected to the station, "Viewl Hankyu Mikuni," opened on 1 April 2003, and station number HK-41 was introduced on 21 December 2013.

Notes

Singer-songwriter Aiko's single "Mikuni Eki" was released on 16 February 2005, and the station was filled with about 100 panels and posters promoting it, but an "incident" occurred in which most of them were stolen.
