History

Maya Cable Station opened as Maya Cable Railway's Takao Station on 6 January 1925. It was damaged and temporarily suspended by the great Hanshin flood disaster of 1938, and in 1944 its service was suspended as a non-essential, non-urgent line, with the track and principal facilities removed. Service resumed and the facilities were rebuilt on 7 May 1955. It was renamed Maya Cable Shita Station in 1973 and became a station of Rokkō Maya Railway through the 1975 merger. It was damaged by the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and remained suspended for a long period; the Kobe City Urban Development Corporation took over the line in 2000, and service resumed on 17 March 2001, at which time the station was renamed to its current name, Maya Cable Station.

Notes

The platform is stepped, with the side to the left (viewed from the station building) used for boarding and the side to the right for alighting.
