History
Matsuzaki Station opened on 28 April 1939 as Chikugo-Matsuzaki, an intermediate stop on the Japanese Government Railways' Amagi Line between Kiyama and Amagi. On 1 April 1986 operation passed to the third-sector Amagi Railway, and the station was renamed Matsuzaki the same day; the passing track removed under national-rail management was restored, giving the station its present island platform serving two tracks. The unstaffed platform is reached by a level crossing with steps at both ends, and the small prefabricated station building now serves only as a waiting room. Today all Amagi Line trains call at the station, 6.4 km from Kiyama, serving the Matsuzaki area of Ogori, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Notes
When the Amagi Railway took over the line in 1986, Matsuzaki was briefly staffed again before reverting to unstaffed status about a year later.
