History
Shiyakusho-mae Station is stop 21 on the Iyotetsu Jōnan Line, a tram stop in Ninbanchō, Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. It opened on 1 September 1911 as Enokimae Stop on the Matsuyama Electric Tramway, passing to Iyo Railway when that company absorbed it on 1 April 1921. The track was doubled on 1 May 1936, and the stop took its present name in 1944. Its route was altered in 1953. A pedestrian bridge in front of the stop, from which trams could be photographed against Matsuyama Castle, was removed in 1996 for underground parking construction. Marked by safety zones on both tracks, the stop today sits beside Matsuyama City Hall and serves loop-line, Line 3 and Line 5 trams.
Notes
The intersection just south of the stop, Matsuyama-shiyakusho-mae, is the terminus of both National Route 11 (running concurrently with Route 33) and National Route 56.
