History

Matsudachō Station (HN55) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Nishinari-ku, Osaka, on a dedicated track separated from the road. It opened on 1 December 1911 with the original Hankai Electric Tramway's Ebisuchō – Ichinochō (present-day Ōshōji) section. Operator changes followed industry consolidation: Nankai Railway absorbed Hankai in 1915, Kinki Nippon Railway took over in 1944, Nankai Electric Railway received the line in 1947, and the present second-generation Hankai Tramway took it over in December 1980. The stop's name preserves the old neighbourhood name Matsudachō.

Notes

Matsudachō was one of the stops opened on 1 December 1911 when the original Hankai Electric Tramway's Ebisuchō–Ichinochō section began operating, and its name comes from the former neighbourhood name Matsudachō.
