History
Masuga Station opened on 21 March 1925, at the same time as the opening of the Osaka Electric Tramway's Yagi Line (now the Osaka Line) between Takada and Yagi. The station's name derives from the fact that at the time it opened its location was Masuga-mura, Takaichi District. It became a station of the Kansai Express Railway through merger with the Sangū Express Electric Railway on 15 March 1941, and of Kintetsu (Kinki Nippon Railway) through merger with the Nankai Railway on 1 June 1944. PiTaPa became usable on 1 April 2007, and the station became unstaffed all day on 1 October 2021. It is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks; the ticket gates and concourse are underground, while the platforms are at ground level. It is operated as an unstaffed station managed by Yamato-Yagi Station.
