History
Maehama Station opened on 10 March 1990 as a new stop on the Nishi-Kyūshū Line, which has been operated by the third-sector Matsuura Railway since 1988. The station is located in the Hirao-men district of Tsukinokawa-chō within the city of Matsuura in Nagasaki Prefecture, and has a single ground-level side platform with no station building, though a waiting room and toilet are provided. The unstaffed station sits between Takashimaguchi and Tsukinokawa stations.
Notes
Maehama's platform faces away from the sea, but the station is so close to the shoreline that the sound of waves is sometimes audible from the platform.
