History

Machiya-nichōme Station (SA 07) is a Toden Arakawa Line tram stop in Arakawa 6-chōme, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo. It opened on 1 April 1913 as Machiya Station with the Ōji Electric Tramway's first section between Mi-no-wa (today Mi-no-wabashi) and Asukayama-shita (today Kajiwara). On 1 February 1942 it became part of the Tokyo City Tramway's Mikawashima Line (today the Arakawa Line) and was renamed Machiya-nichōme around the same time.

Notes

Despite its name, the stop stands not in Machiya 2-chōme but in Arakawa 6-chōme, Arakawa Ward.
