History
Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station is an underground Kyoto Municipal Subway Tōzai Line station in Nakagyō-ku, Kyoto, located beneath the Kawaramachi-Oike intersection. It opened on 12 October 1997 with the inauguration of the Tōzai Line between Daigo and Nijō stations, together with the adjoining Zest Oike underground arcade and a large municipal car park. The station carries the number T12 and is assigned a deep-crimson kara-kurenai station colour. PiTaPa IC card acceptance began on 1 April 2007. Its single ticket gate is operated remotely throughout the day, with staff present only during the morning and evening peaks. Some Keihan Keishin Line through services terminate here using a westward reversing siding.
Notes
Before the Tōzai Line was extended west from Nijō to Uzumasa-Tenjingawa in 2008, every through-running Keihan Keishin Line train reversed at Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae, which drew complaints from passengers who then had to continue one stop to Karasuma Oike to change to the Karasuma Line. Since the timetable revision of 17 March 2018, Keishin through services have run to and from Uzumasa-Tenjingawa outside the morning hours.
