Location

History

Kuzuoka Station opened on 16 March 1991 on the Senzan Line in Aoba-ku, Sendai, primarily to serve a then-new condominium complex; the property's developer fully funded construction of the station. Initially only trains running between Sendai and the Ayashi/Sakunami sections stopped, with Yamagata-bound services passing through. Suica compatibility was added on 26 October 2003, and on 15 December 2006 the administrative parent station moved from Kita-Sendai to Ayashi. From 18 March 2023 all Senzan Line trains, including formerly express services running locally between Sendai and Ayashi, began stopping at the station. The platform sits atop an embankment, reached by stairs from the lower-level station building.

Notes

The station was built and paid for in full by the developer of an adjacent condominium complex.
