History

Kurosaka Station opened on 10 November 1922 as a terminus, when the Ministry of Railways' Hakubi North Line (now the Hakubi Line) was extended between Neu Station and this station. It became a through-station with the extension to Shōyama Station on 28 November of the following year, 1923, and was assigned to the Hakubi Line following a line consolidation in 1928. Freight handling ended in 1963 and parcel handling ended in 1984. It became a station of JR West at the privatization of Japanese National Railways in 1987, and became unstaffed all day on 1 April 2006 when its simplified staffing contract was ended.
