History
Kosugō Station is a station on the Tōhoku Main Line that opened on 12 January 1891, and is also the southernmost station in Miyagi Prefecture. Freight handling ended in August 1960 and parcel handling in February 1984, and the station became unstaffed on 1 December of that year. It was rebuilt into its current building in March 1985 and passed to JR East in the National Railways' privatization and division of April 1987. Use of the Suica IC card became possible on 14 March 2009, and the eki-net Q-ticket service also began on 1 October 2024. It is a ground-level station with a total of two platforms and three tracks—one side platform serving one track and one island platform serving two tracks—connected by a footbridge over the tracks.
Notes
It is the southernmost station in Miyagi Prefecture on the Tōhoku Main Line, and the large building standing to the right of the station building is not a station office but a post of the Sendai Track Maintenance Technology Center.
