History

Koshido Station is a station on the Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) Mikawa Line in Koshidochō, Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, carrying station number MY09. It opened on 17 January 1922 as a station on the Mikawa Railway, and became a station on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line when that company merged with Nagoya Railroad on 1 June 1941. It became unstaffed on 16 August 1970, freight service ended on 1 January 1984, and a passing loop was installed on 1 October 1990. The line was elevated here on 3 July 1999. A centralized station management system and Tranpass were introduced on 1 October 2003, and the "manaca" IC card became usable from 11 February 2011. It is an elevated station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks, managed remotely from Toyotashi Station.

Notes

Because ridership at Mikawa-Chiryū Station surged in 2024, Koshido Station is now the station with the fewest boardings and alightings on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line.
