History

Kōrimoto Station is a Kagoshima City Tram stop in Kamoike 1-chōme, Kagoshima. It opened on 20 December 1959, the same day as the Tōsō Line's Kōgakubu-mae–Kōrimoto section, becoming a transfer point onto that line; the neighboring stop now called Namidabashi had itself carried the "Kōrimoto" name until 30 September 1959. In 1990, after the decision to rebuild the Namidabashi bridge, the section between the stop's former Daiei side and Namidabashi was added to a center-pole overhead-wire conversion plan, completed in 1992. The stop has two opposing side platforms with approach-indicator displays and announcements, split by direction rather than by tram line. Today Line 2 terminates here, while Line 1 continues toward Taniyama and toward Kishaba, Tenmonkan, and Kagoshima Station.

Notes

Despite sharing the name, the Ibusuki–Makurazaki Line's Kōrimoto Station is a separate station, located near the Junshin Gakuen-mae tram stop rather than this one.
