History
Koganechō Station opened on 1 April 1930 on the present-day Keikyū Main Line in Minami-ku, Yokohama. The sweeping timetable revision of 31 July 1999 abolished the express services that had called here, leaving the station served only by local trains; express operation was later reinstated but does not stop at Koganechō. Keikyū introduced station numbering on 21 October 2010, assigning KK40 to the stop. Wartime air raids on Yokohama destroyed the surrounding district in 1945, and in spring 2018 Keikyū opened a mixed-use complex including restaurants, lodging and waterfront leisure facilities beneath the elevated tracks between Koganechō and Hinodechō stations.
