History
Kobata Station opened on 15 June 1937 as a new station on the Miki Electric Railway between Kizu and Oshibedani; the adjacent Sakae Station opened the same day. The line passed to the merged Shin'yū-Sanki Electric Railway (later Kobe Electric Railway) on 9 January 1947. The station was renamed Dentetsu-Kobata on 1 October 1952. A new station building was completed in November 1979, and the name reverted to Kobata on 1 April 1988.
Notes
Kobata is an unstaffed station: its ticket machines, fare gates, fare adjusters, cameras, intercoms and shutters are all worked remotely from a control station over the line's optical network, and with no kiosk on the premises, special tickets are sold on consignment by shops near the station.
