History

Kizugawadai Station opened on 21 September 1994 and is served by the Kintetsu Kyoto Line in the city of Kizugawa, Kyoto Prefecture, where it is station B22, 28.2 rail-kilometers from the line's terminus at Kyoto Station. It is operated by the private railway company Kintetsu Railway and consists of two opposed side platforms connected by an elevated station building, with entrances and exits on both the east and west sides and only one ticket gate. Normally only four-car local trains stop here, although the platforms can accommodate six-car trains. The Kintetsu Kizugawadai residential area and the Kyoto Prefectural Minamiyamashiro Support School are among the landmarks in the surrounding area.
