History
Kizaki Station is a Tōbu Railway station on the Isesaki Line in Ōta, Gunma, 101.2 km from the Asakusa terminus and numbered TI-20. It opened on 27 March 1910 with the Ōta–Shin-Isesaki extension; the site is roughly 400–500 m south of the original planned location in the pine woods of the Nikkō Reiheishi Kaidō post town of Kizaki-juku, having been pulled toward the boundary with neighbouring Ojima town in response to strong lobbying from Ojima. The Tokugawa-Kashi freight branch ran from this station to the wharf at Tokugawa-Kashi from 27 November 1925 until 11 June 1968, and the Tatebayashi–Isesaki section was electrified on 1 October 1927. The station is a staffed ground-level stop with two opposed side platforms linked by a foot crossing and a wooden station building.
Notes
A passage leads from platform 2 directly to the north side of the station, with no ticket-gate equipment other than an IC-card reader on the platform itself; a centre track once lay between the two running lines but has since been removed.
