History
Kitayama Station opened on 11 March 1989. From the 2019 season onward, the secondary station name "Ichigo no Eki" ("Strawberry Station") is applied during the local strawberry-picking season, and a strawberry-themed nameboard replaces the standard one for the duration.
Notes
Kitayama is an unstaffed single-platform halt with a roofed bench; the ground beside the platform is slightly higher, so steps lead down to the platform, and a second set of steps at the Mooka end connects to the level crossing immediately alongside. The building behind the platform is a public toilet rather than a station house. Outside the strawberry season the nameboard uses the standard white-and-blue Mōka Line design; in season it is replaced with a strawberry-themed original.
