History

Kitahara Station opened on 11 July 1939 as an addition to the Jōmō Electric Railway's Jōmō Line, which had begun service in 1928. The unattended station is located in the Kasukawa-machi Komigaito area of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, 10.9 kilometres from the western terminus at Chūō-Maebashi. It consists of a single side platform serving traffic in both directions, set in a suburban rural area dominated by farmhouses. A free parking lot is provided on the north side, and the station serves nearby facilities including the Meikōen nursing home and the Kasukawa Seibu Sports Park.
