History
Kita-Yoshida Station, on JR East's Echigo Line, opened on 8 April 1984 in Yoshida, now part of the city of Tsubame, Niigata, as a Japanese National Railways passenger-only halt between Yoshida and Iwamuro. It has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and was unattended from the start. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR East, and from 21 January 2006 Suica fare cards have been accepted. There is no station building; instead a waiting hut with a toilet stands beside the platform entrance, while a simple Suica card reader and a proof-of-departure ticket machine are installed on the platform itself.
Notes
Kita-Yoshida opened in 1984 as an unstaffed halt and has no station building of its own — just a waiting hut with a toilet beside the platform entrance.
