Location
History
Kita-Noshiro Station opened on 26 April 1926 as the Ministry of Railways' Ugo-Shinonome Station in Shinonome Village, Yamamoto District. It was renamed Kita-Noshiro Station on 15 June 1943, freight handling ended in 1960, and it was unstaffed on 30 September 1972. In 1985 the station building was rebuilt using a converted freight wagon, and it became a station of JR East's Gonō Line at the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station building was rebuilt again in 2009, and on 1 April 2020 its managing station was changed from Noshiro Station to Higashi-Noshiro Station. The eki-net Q-ticket service began there on 1 October 2024.
Notes
For a time from 1985, the station building was a waiting shelter converted from a freight wagon and painted in the "Nostalgic View Train" livery.
