History
Kikukawa Station opened on 21 December 1978 on the Toei Shinjuku Line, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. It is an underground station in Sumida, Tokyo, with a single island platform serving two tracks; the concourse and ticket gates sit one level below ground, with the platform a further level down. The PASMO IC card became usable at the station on 18 March 2007. Assigned station number S-12, Kikukawa sits under the crossing of two metropolitan roads, Route 50 (Shin-Ōhashi-dōri) and Route 319 (Mitsume-dōri), in a shitamachi district mixing commercial, residential, and light-industrial buildings. Today it remains a stop on the Toei Shinjuku Line, positioned between Morishita and Sumiyoshi stations.
Notes
Kikukawa is the only station on the Toei Shinjuku Line located in Sumida Ward, and it is also the ward's southernmost train station.
