History

Kiki Station opened on 14 December 1939 as an intermediate stop when Japanese Government Railways extended the Mugi Line from Awa-Fukui to Hiwasa. The station lies in the fishing settlement of Kiki in Minami, Kaifu District, Tokushima Prefecture, on the narrow flat land at the mouth of the Kiki River. It sits 47.2 km from the Mugi Line's beginning at Tokushima and carries the number M19. JR Shikoku inherited the station at the 1987 JNR privatisation. The station is unstaffed, with a single side platform on an embankment and no station building — only a shelter for waiting passengers.
