History
Kenritsubijutsukan-dōri Station opened on 1 November 1993 as an infill stop on the Gomen Line, two days before the Kōchi Prefectural Museum of Art opened on 3 November. A platform on the Gomenmachi-bound side was added in 1999, and the stop's facilities are barrier-free — ramps on the platforms and folding benches placed out of the walking line. The stop passed to Tosaden Kōtsū on 1 October 2014 with the operator merger. A park-and-ride lot adjoins the stop; it is well used because the Takasu district sits where two national highways merge and traffic into central Kōchi begins to back up, and it was enlarged in January 2006.
Notes
The stop opened on 1 November 1993, two days ahead of the Kōchi Prefectural Museum of Art, whose opening followed on the 3rd; the museum stands about five minutes' walk to the north. Its facilities are barrier-free, with ramps on the platforms and benches that fold away so as not to block the walkway.
