Location

History

Kawabejuku Station opened on 11 January 1999 as one of the original stops on the Ibara Line, which is run by the third-sector Ibara Railway Company. Located 6.0 km from the line's Sōja terminus in the Mabi district of Kurashiki, the unstaffed elevated halt has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, with the station's small facilities tucked beneath the viaduct. The surrounding flatland flooded badly during the July 2018 western-Japan torrential rains.

Notes

A walking route called the Kindaichi Kōsuke Path runs by the station, taking in the sites of the Kawabe honjin and waki-honjin on the old San'yō highway.
