History
Kanamecho Station opened on 24 June 1983 as a stop on the Teito Rapid Transit Authority's Yurakucho Line, in Toshima, Tokyo. The station facilities passed to Tokyo Metro after the authority was privatised in 2004. Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line services began running through the station on 14 June 2008, and waist-height platform edge doors were installed in January 2011. The underground station stands at 1-10 Kanamecho and serves both the Yurakucho Line, as station Y-08, and the Fukutoshin Line, as F-08.
Notes
Its two lines do not share a platform level: the Yurakucho Line's island platform, with tracks 1 and 2, is on the second basement, while the Fukutoshin Line's, with tracks 3 and 4, is on the third.
