Location

History

Kami-Nagatoro Station opened as Kunikami Station on the Chichibu Railway at the turn of 1915–1916; sources give both 29 December 1915 and 1 January 1916. The station was renamed Kami-Nagatoro on 15 May 1928. The privately-run Nagatoro limited express working through from the Tobu Tojo Line terminated here until March 1992, and a Japanese National Railways through service from Ueno via the Takasaki Line also terminated at the station. PASMO IC card acceptance began on 12 March 2022, with the station destaffed on the same day. The current layout includes one side platform and one island platform with a wooden station building still in use.

Notes

Because the platform lies on a curve, Chichibu Railway's own commuter cars open only two doors per car when standing at track 3; the two-door cars working through from the Seibu line therefore use track 2 on the opposite side of the island platform instead.
