Location

History

Kamikitadai Station opened on 27 November 1998 as the northern terminus of the Tama Toshi Monorail Line, in the city of Higashiyamato, Tokyo. The elevated station has two opposed side platforms serving the two-track layout, and station numbering introduced across the line in February 2018 assigned it the code TT19. Built at the head of a 16.0 km route, it sits above Tokyo Metropolitan Route 43 (Imokubo-Kaidō), with Tokyo Metropolitan Route 5 (Shin-Ōme-Kaidō) also nearby. The station's structure was designed to accommodate a planned extension toward Hakonegasaki Station on the JR Hachikō Line, and on 23 January 2020 the start of construction works for that extension was formally announced.

Notes

Kamikitadai is the northernmost monorail station in Japan, sitting at the head of a line whose planned extension toward Hakonegasaki was formally launched in January 2020.
