History
Kami-Hinokinai Station is a station on the Akita Nairiku Jūkan Railway's Akita Nairiku Line, located at Teramura, Kami-Hinokinai, Nishiki-machi, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. It opened on 1 April 1989 as a station of the Akita Nairiku Jūkan Railway in what was then Nishiki Village, Semboku District, and has been unstaffed since opening. It is a ground-level station with an island platform serving two tracks; the usable platform length is only a little over one car, and the platform has a long, narrow waiting room fitted with a windbreak and benches arranged in point-symmetric zigzag fashion. No track numbers are posted for passenger guidance. On the station-entrance side there is a level crossing within the station premises with no barrier, connected to the platform by a passage.
Notes
Because the city-designated intangible folk cultural property "Kamifūsen-age" (paper-balloon release) is held nearby every year on 10 February, the station displays a sign reading "Kamifūsen-age no Eki" (Station of the Paper Balloon Release).
