History

Kajikazawaguchi Station opened on 17 December 1927 as Kajikazawa-Kurosawa Station, a general-service station, when the Fuji Minobu Railway's Minobu–Ichikawa-Daimon section opened. It was renamed Kajikazawaguchi on 1 October 1938 when the Ministry of Railways leased the line, and was nationalized on 1 May 1941, becoming a station on the Minobu Line. Freight handling ended in September 1972 and parcel handling in February 1984, and the station became a station of JR Central with the division and privatization of JNR in April 1987. From 2006 all trains, including the Fujikawa limited express, have stopped there, and the station became unstaffed with the timetable revision of March 2012.

Notes

Kajikazawa, the district of Fujikawa town that gave the station its name, lies on the opposite bank of the Fuji River; the station itself was named Kajikazawa-Kurosawa, taking its name from both the former Kajikazawa town — once a loading point for shipping on the Fuji River — and the former Kurosawa village.
