History
Kaizaki Station opened on 1 July 1923 as an additional Japanese Government Railways stop on what was then the Hōshū Main Line, which was renamed the Nippō Main Line on 15 December 1923. Control passed to JR Kyushu at the 1987 JNR privatisation. The station is unstaffed, and its station building — a narrow, simple wooden structure in a basic Japanese style with a tiled roof — was destroyed by fire in 2018. The station has two side platforms linked by a footbridge, with a siding, and serves the city of Saiki in Ōita Prefecture; daily traffic averaged 42 passengers in fiscal 2015.
Notes
The wooden station building — a narrow, simple structure in a basic Japanese style with a tiled roof — was destroyed by fire in 2018; the station remains unstaffed.
