History
Jūjō Station is an underground stop on the Kyoto Municipal Subway's Karasuma Line, numbered K13, in Minami-ku, Kyoto. It opened on 11 June 1988, when the Karasuma Line's Kyoto–Takeda extension began service, and started accepting the PiTaPa IC card from 1 April 2007. The station sits beneath the Jūjō–Karasuma intersection, where Jūjō-dōri and Karasuma-dōri cross, and has one island platform serving two tracks, reached through a single ticket gate that is handled remotely all day except during the morning (7:30–8:30) and evening (17:30–18:30) rush, when staff are present. It lies between Kujō and Kuina-bashi stations, and Nintendo Co., Ltd.'s headquarters stands nearby.
Notes
Since April 2010, an advertisement for a nearby manufacturer's product, the "NS Slitter" made by Nishimura Seisakusho, has been displayed beneath the station's name sign.
