History

Jōgasaki-Kaigan Station is a station of the Izukyū Corporation's Izukyū Line, located at Futo, Itō City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Its station number is IZ05. It was not built when the Izukyū Line opened in 1961, but was newly established on 15 March 1972 as an intermediate station between Futo and Izu-Kōgen stations. In 1991, the station building was rebuilt in a log-house style as part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of the Izukyū Line's opening. It was unstaffed on 16 January 2021 in response to declining ridership, but is scheduled to be restaffed by May 2026. The station is an at-grade station with a single side platform serving one track, and has a currently-closed foot bath, "Poppo no Yu," attached on the platform.

Notes

The log-house-style station building was rebuilt as part of the 1991 events marking the 30th anniversary of the Izukyū Line's opening, and a foot bath, "Poppo no Yu," is installed on the platform toward the Izu-Kōgen side.
