History

Jogakuin-mae Station (W01) is a Hiroden Hakushima Line tram stop in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, named for the neighbouring Hiroshima Jogakuin junior and senior high school. While the Hakushima Line itself was opened in 1912 by the Hiroshima Electric Tramway, the stop dates only from 1952 and the post-war reconstruction of the line. The Hakushima Line had been suspended since the atomic bombing of 6 August 1945; it was rebuilt on a newly built main road, Hakushima-dōri, and Jogakuin-mae opened on that new alignment when service resumed.

Notes

Jogakuin-mae is a post-war creation rather than part of the original 1912 Hakushima Line: the line had been suspended since the atomic bombing of 6 August 1945, and when it was rebuilt on a new alignment along Hakushima-dōri this stop opened with the resumption of service in 1952.
