History

Jizōmachi Station is a station on the Iyo Railway's Gunchū Line that opened on 21 February 1901. It is located at Ōaza Kitakuroda, Masaki, Iyo District, Ehime Prefecture, and its station number is IY32. Passing facilities were installed on 1 August 1991. It is a staffed station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks, where trains pass each other during daytime hours. While most of the Iyo Railway's passing stations use spring-return switches, this station's switches are motor-driven. It is the first passing station encountered heading from the terminus, Gunchūkō Station, and the last one on the Gunchū Line heading from Matsuyama City Station.
