History
Jidōshagakkō-mae Station opened as Ichiba Station on 6 December 1909. It was renamed Enshū-Ichiba on 1 April 1923, and, after the Entetsu Driving School opened on 5 September 1964 on land in front of the station that had been a combined freight station site, it was renamed to its present name, Jidōshagakkō-mae (in front of the driving school), on 1 April 1966. It has been unstaffed since around September 1974. It is a ground-level station with one island platform serving two tracks, and both up and down trains use the west-side track except during train passing. Part of the ground floor of "Entetsu Heights Jikō-eki Building," an apartment building on the east side of the platform, is used as the station building (waiting room), and a ticket machine is also placed there, but the station is unstaffed all day. Its station number is ET08.
Notes
The site of the adjacent Entetsu Driving School was originally set aside by Entetsu Railway as a planned freight terminal, but the plan was derailed by the wave of motorization and the land was instead converted for use as the driving school.
