Operations were suspended by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident of 11 March 2011, service resumed with the reopening of the Odaka–Haranomachi section on 12 July 2016, and on 14 March 2020 it was incorporated into the Sendai metropolitan area, making Suica usable.
Notes
Iwaki-Ōta Station is the only station on the Jōban Line to carry "Iwaki," the old provincial name of coastal Fukushima Prefecture, and from 2011 until April 2012 it stood on the boundary of the exclusion zone established after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
