Location

History

Ishiwara Station opened on 7 October 1901 on the Chichibu Railway's Chichibu Main Line, which runs between Hanyū and Mitsumineguchi; the station is in the city of Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture, 17.0 km from Hanyū, and carries station code CR11. It has one island platform between two tracks, reached from the station building by an underground passage, with additional siding tracks alongside the running lines. The station was previously a commissioned station managed by Kumagaya Station, becoming unstaffed on 12 March 2022, the same day PASMO IC card use began there. Nearby facilities include Saitama Kumagaya High School and Saitama Kumagaya Agricultural High School.

Notes

Although the surrounding district's place name is locally pronounced "Ishihara," the station itself is officially read "Ishiwara."
