History

Imabashi Station opened on 18 November 1911 as a station of the Tōsan Electric Tramway, together with the Imabashi factory. It became a station of Shikoku Suiryoku Denki through a company merger on 25 December 1916, and of the Sanuki Electric Railway on 30 April 1942, then became a station of the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad's Shido Line through a merger on 1 November 1943. The Imabashi factory was once closed in 1969, but the Kawaramachi train depot was relocated to the former Imabashi factory site in 1978, becoming today's Imabashi train depot. On 1 August 1976, a head-on collision occurred near the station. It is an at-grade station with two side platforms and two tracks in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, with station number S01, and is designated for stopover tickets. It was unstaffed all day from April 2020, but station staff have been assigned during weekday morning hours since July of that year.

Notes

Imabashi Station has attached to it the Imabashi train depot, the vehicle base for the Shido Line, and the Imabashi factory, a rolling-stock workshop, where Shido Line vehicles are repaired and inspected.
