Location

History

Ikeda Station, on the Hankyu Takarazuka Main Line at Sakae-machi, Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture, carries station number HK-49. Since the timetable revision of 30 August 2003, all trains in service have stopped here. On the Hankyu Takarazuka Main Line, this is also the boundary station between Osaka Prefecture, which extends from Osaka-Umeda Station to here, and Hyōgo Prefecture, which begins at the next station, Kawanishi-Noseguchi. Ikeda City was the first town developed for housing by Minoo Arima Electric Tramway, the predecessor of Hankyu Corporation, and is also where the company's founder, Ichizō Kobayashi, built his residence; the station is the registered head-office location of both Hankyu Hanshin Holdings and its subsidiary Hankyu Corporation. Before the Hirai depot opened in 1971, an Ikeda depot stood on the Takarazuka side of the station.

Notes

A station stamp is installed within the station, and the registered head offices of both Hankyu Hanshin Holdings and Hankyu Corporation are also near the station.
