History

Ichi-no-Torii Station opened on 13 April 1913 as "Ichi-no-Torii Station" (written with katakana no). It is a station on the Nose Electric Railway's Myōken Line; it was the terminus when it opened, but became a through station when the line was extended to Myōken Station (later Myōkenguchi Station) on 3 November 1923. On 1 April 1973, when widening works on National Route 173 prompted the Hirano–Ichi-no-Torii section to be rerouted via the Shiogawa Tunnel, the station was relocated to its present site and its name notation was changed to the present "Ichi-no-Torii Station" (written with hiragana no). It was rebuilt with two opposing side platforms serving two tracks when the Hirano–Yamashita section was double-tracked on 24 April 1977. The station number is NS08.

Notes

The "Ichi-no-Torii" (First Torii Gate) that gave the station its name collapsed in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and was subsequently rebuilt at a new location near the entrance of the nearby Nose Country Club golf course.
