History
Hosobata Station opened on 21 January 1926 on the Kakamigahara Railway. A merger on 28 March 1935 brought the line under Meigi Railway, which was itself renamed Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) on 1 August that year. The station was destaffed on 16 February 1967. Elevation works converted the layout to today's two-platform elevated structure between 18 March and 16 December 1979. On 16 December 2006 a centralised station-management system was introduced together with Tranpas, which was superseded by the manaca IC card on 11 February 2011. The platforms lie entirely on a 300 m radius curve, and the Tagami–Kiridoshi section containing the station is the only elevated stretch of the Kakamigahara Line.
Notes
The elevated station has no elevator, escalator, or restroom; the platforms, which lie entirely on a 300 m radius curve, are reached by stairs only.
