Location

History

Hongō Station opened on 1 April 1969 as a station of the Nagoya Municipal Subway's Higashiyama Line, in Hongō 2-chōme, Meitō-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Service with the IC card "manaca" began on 11 February 2011, and platform-edge doors entered use on 22 February 2016. Its station number is H21, and it is an elevated station with opposed platforms serving two tracks; there are two ticket gates, and one elevator each is installed between the east ticket gate and each platform, for a total of two. It is administered by the Higashiyama Line Station Affairs Section's Nagoya District Station.

Notes

The station's address is Hongō 2-chōme, but west of Aichi Prefectural Route 59, the Nagoya Middle Ring Road, which runs just west of the station, the area becomes the adjoining Kamiyashiro 2-chōme, so the residential address in front of the station changes over a short distance.
