History

Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi Station is a single-platform stop on the Sangi Railway Sangi Line in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, 11.2 km from the line's origin at Kintetsu-Tomida (station number S07). It opened on 23 July 1931 as Ōnaga Station (大長駅). On 1 April 1997 the station was relocated 100 m toward the Tomida end and renamed Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi after the nearby Hokusei Central Park. The station is recognised in the fourth Chūbu Top 100 Stations list, and its signs still note the former Ōnaga name.

Notes

The platform signs still print the former name as "旧 大長" alongside the current Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi name, and the old Ōnaga name survives nearby on a dental clinic and on a community-bus stop.
