History
Hiroshima Station tram stop (M01) is the terminus of the Hiroden Main Line at JR West's Hiroshima Station in Minami-ku, Hiroshima. It opened on 23 November 1912 as Hon-eki-mae, a stop in front of Hiroshima Station, was renamed Hiroshima-eki-mae on 30 March 1960, and took its present name, Hiroshima-eki (Hiroshima Station), on 1 November 2001. On 3 August 2025 it was relocated to the second floor of the new station building 'minamoa', level with the JR concourse, when the elevated Ekimae-Ōhashi route opened; previously the terminus stood at ground level in front of the station building. Hiroden routes 1, 2, 5, and 6 all originate here.
Notes
On 3 August 2025 the tram stop moved from ground level on the south side of the JR station up onto the second floor of the new minamoa station building and commercial complex, reached by the newly built elevated Ekimae-Ōhashi route — an unusual elevated tram terminal sitting level with the JR concourse.
